So I find myself in front of my computer at 2 a.m. for no particular rhyme or reason. I want to go to bed because the idea of being able to drink coffee is currently exciting me. Given my present situation, I would have absolutely no business consuming said coffee right now, so I'll wait until I wake up. Drinking coffee right now would be the biggest mistake of my life. (Yes, that is counting the time I road on the hood of, 1980 something, gray Chevy Caprice Sedan, doing almost 40 mph through a subdivision in the middle of the night)
I don't usually write with a lot of purpose; (Doesn't that just scream, "Read on?") today, is no exception.
It has come to my attention I need to find a Niche. I need to find a topic to talk about and stick to it. Something like crazy anecdotes or my shaky political views. Maybe it could be about my adventures around the world? Oh, wait... Nope. That's someone else's life...
I don't know what it's going to be about. However, I do know I like writing. Sure, there are better, more important, intelligent, and provocative writers out there, (Any 5 year old with a crayon) but I still like doing it. I just feel I need a little structure to my writing. This blog can't simply be the sporadic rantings of a sometimes jaded individual who wants to see the world through the eyes of a romantic, but usually ends up looking down and thinking, "Look at all this dirt... Someone should do something about all this dirt... Should I do something about all this dirt...? Someone else should do something about all this dirt..." (The dirt is a metaphor)
There are too many topics in the world for me to tackle. I don't want to talk about things just to talk about them (doing that right now!) I want to talk about things because I really enjoy the subject. I know I've been doing that I would just like to find a way to make it happen more often. Maybe with a schedule in mind.
"Write what you know," that's what they say. So here's what I know: how to listen to music; how to play video games; how to shoot and edit video; how to write (Poorly); how to talk to people; how to watch movies; how to read comics; how to be neurotic.
Lets see what happens next.
